Our favourite places to study on campus
We all have our unique study style and methods. In this blog we share our favourite places to study on campus for those days where you need a break from the house or change of scenery.
Moray Street Social Space
Needing a group study space or background noise? Our upper reception social space features comfy couches and chairs making it ideal for group settings. There's also plenty of desk space for laptops. Just note that it can get noisy during busy periods.
Student Services Centre
Needing something quieter? Sited over two open access floors, the Student Services Centre is the perfect study spot. You can choose from:
- computer workstations
- individual study desks
- docking stations to bring in your own laptop,
- a lapsafe cabinet to loan a laptop
- sound-proof study pods
Plus, our dedicated student support, IT support and study bar teams are on hand to answer any questions.
The centre is open 8.45am - 4.30pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8.45am - 4.00pm on Fridays.
The Quad (Moray Street Campus)
Perfect during the warmer weather and hidden in the middle of the campus; we wouldn’t blame you if you’ve never noticed the Quad. Featuring picnic benches and assorted fruit trees, it is the ideal spot to get some much-needed fresh air while hitting the books. You may just have to get used to the smell of shortbread being produced by the nearby Walkers Shortbread factory.
Linkwood Technology Centre Study Area
Based at Linkwood? Situated on the first floor, the study area features computers and desk space for group or solo study for our engineering and construction students.
The Biblical Garden
Needing a peaceful nature spot? Just a 15-minute walk from our Moray Street Campus, the biblical garden (which plays host to our horticulture students) is the perfect place to enjoy studying while surrounded by greenery. Who knows, you may even get to say hello to Edith, the resident four-legged friend.
