Marine, Environmental Science and Engineering
The University of the Highlands and Islands is at the forefront of research into climate change, marine science, aquaculture and renewable energy, with much of our work addressing the social, cultural and environmental impacts of development. While our work targets global challenges it is intrinsically based in and inspired by the region.
Our research divides into three interdisciplinary environmental science themes, click to explore the theme:
Within the cluster there are also four groups focussed on providing answers for specific industries as well as a network for graduate student support.
- Energy Innovation Team
- Aquaculture Hub
- Water Quality Innovation Group.
- Institute for Biodiversity and Freshwater Conservation
- Graduate School
In addition we are currently developing our engineering expertise, details of which will be updated here very soon.
