UHI student support teams are made up of dedicated staff ready to support you with not just your academic success and your health and wellbeing, but with your professional development as well.
At UHI Futures, our career advisers can support you with building your CV, cover letter, and job applications, and providing impartial advice on your career development and progression options. We've already published some recommendations on the Looking For Work section of the UHI site, but it is also quick and easy to set up a one-on-one call with a career adviser on the Handshake app!
The rest of our team helps organise and promote the following programmes with local employers across the Highlands, Islands, Perth, and Moray:
- Student Work Placements or Internships
- Student Work Experiences
- Work Shadowing
- Employer-generated Student Projects
- Volunteering
- Graduate Internships
Those opportunities are highlighted on the menu of this webpage, as well as on the Handshake app. Additionally, make sure to check your UHI email inbox regularly, for timely news and other communication from the UHI Futures team.
If you have any questions about any of the above, you can e-mail us at any time at futures@uhi.ac.uk.

- Collaborating with students by offering employer-led projects or case studies.
- Collaborating with staff in an advisory capacity to ensure that curriculum is informed by business and industry.

Additionally, you can join a growing number of UHI industry partners who are supporting us in fostering innovation, supporting more young people to access training and education, and driving economic growth through the following collaborations:
