Roger Sendall

Director of Corporate Governance (Deputy Secretary)

Roger joined UHI in 2010 in the role of Corporate Governance Manager, he was promoted to Head of Governance and Records Management in 2014 and became Director of Corporate Governance and Deputy Secretary in 2022. Roger is responsible for leadership and coordination of UHI's corporate governance and compliance activities.

Roger provides day-to-day line management to teams within the corporate governance unit including corporate governance and corporate systems compliance, policies, complaints, archives and records management, risk management, data protection services and health and safety.

Roger has an MSc in corporate governance, he is a Chartered Secretary and a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute of the UK and Ireland.

Roger has extensive board and management experience acquired from various roles within commercial and public sector organisations including listed companies and the civil service. Prior to becoming a chartered governance professional, he worked as a British Sea Fisheries Officer and was Master of the States of Guernsey’s offshore fisheries protection vessel.
