What can the University of the Highlands and Islands do for your Business? Stakeholder Event
Orkney College UHI held a stakeholder event on the evening of 20 November 2017.
The two-hour session began with Orkney College UHI academics presenting their areas of expertise with examples of previous collaborations with local businesses. This was followed by a question and answer session, as well as lots of lively discussion – and scrumptious snacks (courtesy of Orkney Blide Trust)!
Academics present were Professor Donna Heddle (Institute for Northern Studies, University of the Highlands & Islands), Dr Peter Martin (Agronomy Institute, University of the Highlands & Islands), Lynn Campbell (Culture and Heritage), Sean Page and Peter Higgins (Archaeology Institute, University of the Highlands & Islands), Anne Hill (Hospitality and Tourism) and Lorraine Thomson from Interface.
A number of Orkney businesses were in attendance, as well as members of HIE, OIC Harbours Service and Orkney Islands Council.
It was a very well-attended event where a number of links were made. We plan to organise similar events in the future, so watch this space!
