Your first few weeks

Join your induction

You will receive a communication in July with induction details.

Induction sessions usually include:

  • A welcome by your lecturing team and further information about your course including your course handbook and timetable
  • An introduction to your Personal Academic Tutor (PAT), who will support you throughout your studies
  • An introduction to our IT systems, library, learning platforms, campus buildings and facilities
  • An introduction to your students’ association - Highlands and Islands Students’ Association

Make the most of Freshers’ week

  • Freshers’ week normally takes place mid-September and is a great opportunity to meet new friends and learn more about clubs and societies on campus. HISA Inverness partners with local businesses to deliver activities that will help you meet new people, try out new things and to generally get to know the campus and the area a bit more
  • Freshers is a great opportunity to sign up for clubs and societies, take part in activities and meet your local HISA representatives
  • HISA will be holding several Freshers’ events throughout September. Keep an eye on the HISA Inverness Facebook page and MyDay for more details
