The Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) is run by Advance HE. It helps us understand what’s working well for our postgraduate researchers (PGRs) and where we can improve, and allows us to benchmark UHI against other institutions in the UK and beyond.
The survey is open Monday 2 February to Thursday 30 April 2026.
Why take part?

You can take part if you are a postgraduate research student at UHI, including:
- PhD, Doctoral or Research Master’s students
- Full-time or part-time
- Distance or campus-based
- Home or international students

- We’ll email you a personal survey link to your UHI student email address from Jisc Online Surveys on Monday 2 February
- Reminder emails will follow
- If you haven’t received your link, please get in touch and we’ll resend it.
The survey closes on 30 April 2026.

- Your motivations for undertaking your programme
