Entry requirements - relevant academic subjects
Entry to some of our degrees requires attainment of a specific level of previous study in a relevant academic subject.
Humanities degrees
The basic entry requirement to year one of our humanities single and joint honours degrees is three Scottish Highers at a minimum of BBC (or equivalent UK/international qualifications). This relates to subjects such as archaeology, culture and heritage, criminology, history, literature, philosophy, politics, Scottish history, sociology and social sciences. At least two of these Highers should be from the list of relevant academic subjects below.
The exception is BA (Hons) Literature and BA (Hons) Literature and Creative Writing where one of the Highers must be English at C or above, plus one relevant academic subject and one additional higher to make up the BBC requirement.
