Your tuition fees cover the cost of enrolment, tuition, and assessment, the use of academic facilities, teaching and student support throughout your studies.

If you are successful in your application, and have met all academic requirements, you will receive an unconditional offer which will give you full instructions on how to pay your fees.

Successful applicants will be required to pay a deposit before the university will issue you with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number, which you will need to apply for your visa.

If you receive any funding assistance or loans, please contact the international office for more information on how to apply them to your tuition fees.

You will need to take into account the cost of applying for a visa (if applicable), travel to Scotland, accommodation and other costs of living while in Scotland.

Funding sources

UHI scholarships and bursaries

  • Subject-specific bursaries and scholarships – Please use the filters e.g. 'European' or 'International'
  • British Council GREAT Scholarship – For Greek students on selected full-time, on-campus postgraduate courses at UHI Orkney
  • EU/EEA/Switzerland: Students receive an automatic scholarship tuition fee discount (subject to reapproval for 2025/26) 
    • Scholarship amount – Undergraduate (on-campus only): For students who have spent the previous three years living in the EU/EEA or Switzerland. £3,000 per year for BA, BA (Hons) full-time. £4,000 per year for BSc, BEng, BSc (Hons), BEng (Hons) full-time. 
    • Scholarship amount – Postgraduate taught: 25% off tuition fees for postgraduate taught students, studying either on-campus or online, who have spent the previous three years living in the EU/EEA or Switzerland.
  • South Asia Scholarship: Students receive a 10% tuition fee discount - applied at offer stage to all applicants of undergraduate programmes, of at least one year in duration, whose permanent residence is either India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka
