LTA Connect: Compassionate Pedagogies - beyond the classroom, how compassion is exemplified through UHI processes and regulations

Session Outline

Compassionate pedagogies and academic standards are not in opposition: when implemented effectively, they reinforce each other, ensuring both student success and institutional excellence.​  We shall be discussing examples from the academic standards, quality enhancement and student advisor side of the student journey including: the developing and implementing procedures and change to support students from the point of entry to exit with:

• RPL
• programme design and approval
• changes to MC processes
• resits and summer arrangements
• no detriment policies
• compassionate approaches to Examination

Chaired by Anna-Wendy Stevenson, Head of Academic Standards and Enhancement at UHI, this session will start with short presentations before moving into a panel discussion and participant Q&A.
