Jisc Discovery Tool
The discovery tool helps you to explore your digital know-how
The discovery tool enables you to explore the different elements we call ‘digital capabilities’ (see section below explaining the framework) and to find out more about your own digital practice. Through answering the questions, you will assess your confidence and capability in the areas relevant to your role. At the end you will receive a personal report with next steps to try and links to relevant resources.
Use it to ensure you can make digital technologies work for you, in your studies and beyond.
Explaining digital capabilities via the digital capabilities framework
The discovery tool is based on Jisc’s digital capabilities framework. Within this framework there are six areas of practice that contain, in total, 15 elements:
Getting started

The university partnership will receive anonymised reports showing the digital capability scoring bands for the selected question set by department (in the staff data report) or subject discipline (in the student and staff data reports). Only departments or subject discipline areas where five or more users have completed that question set will show in this view.
All data received by the university partnership will be anonymised and will not be attributable to a single individual.
