Biography

Dr Bobby Macaulay is a Research Associate within the Centre for Mountain Studies at the University of the Highlands and Islands. Drawing on an interdisciplinary academic background comprising political science, public health and rural development, his research focuses on the role of community organisations in the sustainability of rural and island communities, with a particular interest in community asset ownership. Outside of academia, Dr Macaulay has worked in research roles within the UK Government, World Health Organization and a number of charitable organisations and research institutes, as well as having spent several years working in education and development in Southern Africa. He is the coordinator of the Community Landownership Academic Network and sits on the Committee of the Scottish Land Fund.
