Carnegie Masters Grant
Carnegie Masters Grants aim to reduce barriers by providing financial support for eligible students taking up a full‑time or part‑time taught master’s programme at any Scottish higher education institution.

31July 2026The scheme is designed for students who:
- Are ordinarily resident in Scotland
- Live in low‑income households
- Have applied for, or secured, a place on an eligible taught master’s course beginning in 2026/27
To apply, you must also have completed two years full-time at a Scottish secondary school or college, OR have a substantial connection to Scotland through residency, earlier education, family life, work life.
Grants are for students whose household income falls within the following thresholds;
- No children - single person household income of £30,000 - couple's household income of £35,000
- 1 child - single person household income of £35,000 - couple's household income of £40,000
- 2 children - single person household income of £40,000 - couple's household income of £45,000
- 3 children - single person household income of £45,000 - couple's household income of £50,000
- Per additional child - single person household income £5,000 - couple's household income £5,000
Before applying you must have an offer (conditional or unconditional) for a place on an eligibile taught or research Masters programme.
