Erasmus
Erasmus Programme 2027/28
The University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) confirms that the University overall will not be applying to participate in the Erasmus programme for the 2027/28 academic year.
We recognise the significant value that participation in Erasmus brings to students, staff, and our wider academic community, and we remain committed to maintaining strong international opportunities.
The Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS), as an academic partner of UHI, is applying for an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) before applying for a mobility project to their Erasmus+ National Agency. This will enable SAMS to participate in the scheme in 2027/28 for its programmes. This participation is not yet approved. When approval is secured, this information will be updated. Enquiries about SAMS participation can be directed to: erasmus@sams.ac.uk
Some academic partners in our partnership are considering the option of pursuing an individual ECHE application and consequently participation in the Erasmus scheme for the 2027/28 academic year. No decision has yet been made. We will provide updated information as soon as decisions are confirmed.
The University will keep its position under active review and aims to re-engage with the Erasmus programme in future years.
