UHI Women’s Network: Aurora Taster Session

Session Outline

From 2018, the LTA has co-ordinated small cohorts of participants each year on the AdvanceHE’s Aurora Leadership Development Programme for women. Forty-three participants, from across the university, have completed the programme with evaluative studies highlighting the highly positive impact of the programme on their professional practice. The LTA supports participants to embed their leadership skills through a range of professional development opportunities including UHI Aurora Action Learning Sets; taking part in Aurora promotion webinars, the panel selection process; mentoring of new participants and presenting at LTA events, webinars and conferences.   

As part of the Women’s Network, this webinar will provide information on the UHI’s engagement with the programme, who Aurora is for, the time commitment, and a taster of the 25-26 cohort’s favourite tools from the programme: 

Christine Anderson – Identity, Impact and Voice - consider what it means to be on the receiving end of you (your impact on others), how you show up and how you might develop your communication style to have greater impact on all those around you.  

Laura Hobbs – Core Leadership – how to develop a leader identity, using Aurora tools to support your individual leadership style, and understanding the purpose and value of thoughtful leadership.  

Lauren McDonald – Adaptive Leadership – navigating complex changes with FE and HE, utilising the balcony v the dance floor perspectives and adopting the adaptive leadership approach.  

Francisca Vermeulen – What does an Aurora day looks like and what happens after your Aurora journey
