New book series from the Institute for Northern Studies
THE NORTH ATLANTIC WORLD - LAND AND SEA AS CULTURAL SPACE – AD400-1900
The Institute for Northern Studies has launched a new book series in cooperation with Brepols. The series, with four volumes currently in production, focuses on the cultural heritage of the North Atlantic World between c. AD 400 and c. 1900. It is envisaged that the series will provide a forum for comparative and inter-disciplinary research from a variety of fields, in particular archaeology, history, literature, languages, and folklore.
The first in the series, due out next Spring, is 'What is North?' examining the North Atlantic World's relationship with 'the North' in culture, history, and literature from the early medieval period to the present day. More information here.
